We spent Sunday afternoon at my parents house.

RJ and Drew had some playtime before bed this evening. Drew has been smiling at everything - but only once. Once you get him to smile at something, he won't smile at it again, so we are going to have to start getting creative. He likes to blwo raspberries also. Of course, he ends up slobbering all over the place from them!

Well, we officially had to move up to 3-6 month clothes! He is only 11 weeks old! He looked so cute in his "big boy" outfit, it made me so sad that he is growing so fast. He looked like a little man, especially when he wanted to stand up on the table!!

Bowling

RJ and I went bowling Saturday night with my friends from work. We had a lot of fun!! It just sucked driving home from Merritt Island!

Father's Day

RJ had a relaxing Father's Day. It rained all day so he slept all day. We went to Outback for dinner with the whole family and it was YUMMY!!

Jeff Blauser Ejection

Jeff Blauser used to be the shortstop for the Atlanta Braves, now he is the coach for their AA farm team the Mississippi Braves...

Two Month Shots

Drew had his 2 month shots yesterday afternoon. I was so nervous going there. he has been so good and I knew he was going to wonder what the heck he did to deserve the needle jabbed into his leg. But he actually did really good. He only screamed for a second when the nurse stuck the needle in. He had to get three shots. When she was done, RJ picked him up and he quit screaming and never started again. I gave him some tylenol as soon as we got home, he had some chow and then went to bed by 6:00 and slept all night (waking up a couple times to eat of course).

He weighed in at 16 pounds!! His length was 24 inches. So he has grown only 2 inches since birth, but has gained over 6 1/2 pounds!! The doctor said because he is breastfed that he will gain more weight than normal, but he will start losing it when he becomes more active, like rolling over and crawling and walking. He is just my little chunky monkey!! We go back at 4 months for more shots!!

Relaxing Weekend

We had a really relaxing weekend. Friday night RJ took me to Red Lobster for dinner (yummy) and then we went to the dog track to play poker. It was interesting and not a place I plan on going back to anytime soon. If we do, it will be to watch the doggies run around the track, not to play poker. Saturday we went out on the boat, we took our lunch and stopped at disappearing island and took a nap! Saturday night we were both falling asleep at like 6:30 so we rented a movie off the TV. Sunday we did nothing, well RJ did nothing, I did laundry and went grocery shopping. Drew was good, he slept most of the day so it helped with getting things done. He has been smiling real good for RJ last week so this picture was my attempt to get him to smile for me while also trying to snap a picture. It turned out pretty cute I think.

RJ had his last minor league game last night. Drew and I had planned on going with him, it was a 6:00 Daytona Cubs game, but it started pouring out from that Tropical Storm that is on the west coast. So we ended up not going. RJ said it ended up being real nice out after it stopped raining, but that's ok, Drew and I had a nice evening. He took his bath and went to sleep by 7:30. He's such a good baby!!

End of Baseball

Thank goodness the baseball season is coming to an end. For RJ anyways. He had his last Jacksonville Suns game on Wednesday and his last Daytona Cubs game is this weekend. Here are some pictures of RJ in Jacksonville, they are a minor league AA team...

"The manager Gary Jones of the Mobile Bay Bears had an early exit Sunday in Jacksonville (AA). I ejected him for arguing balls and strikes in the second inning." -RJ

Since RJ hasn't been home all week, Drew and I have just been hanging out. He is such a little cutie. He loves standing up, he clinches his little butt cheeks together, holds his arms out in front of him and grunts - he looks like he is posing for an strong man competition. We go have his shots on Tuesday, not fun. The babysitter said he will probably shed his first tears that day, I will be so sad!! I am making RJ go with me to the doctor.

Nothing else is new, we might go out on the boat tomorrow (Saturday) and just relaxon Sunday before RJ leaves for his baseball game. I am looking forward to RJ finally being home tonight so I can sit in the bubble bath and have a beer!!

Nice weekend

We've had a nice weekend so far. Today RJ got up bright and early and replaced the mulch in the front yeard with river rocks. It looks so much better! Drew and I slept in and then played a little in the jumperoo, took a nap and then went next door and swam in th Chris and Jen's pool. It was Drew's first time in a pool and he did really good. He sat in a baby ring and kicked his feet and looked around. RJ just left for Jacksonville for a baseball game so Drew and I are going to hang out and then maybe go to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. We have had a relaxing day and poor RJ is going to be beat, he has to get up and go back to Jacksonville in the morning!

Sleep through the night

Last night was the very first time Drew even came close to sleeping through the night! He was consistently still eating every two hours as of last Monday. Once we started in a routine of going to the babysitter, he all of a sudden was sleeping 3 and 4 hour stretches at night. But last night - holy cow, I woke up at 2:45 in a panic! He hadn't eaten since 9:00 and had been asleep since at least 10:00. I ran in and checked to make sure he was breathing and he was sleeping soundly so I left him be. At 5:30 I finally had to wake him up to feed so that I could get ready to go to work! What a good boy!

The babysitter suggested I swaddle him really tight so he doesn't wake himself up with his crazy arms. We had tried it before, but he got too hot. But for some reason last night I found a blanket that seemed perfect to wrap him up in. (All the receiving blankets I got are all too small already) So that evidently worked!

First Post

Drew turned 8 weeks old yesterday (Monday) so here is a brief recap of his first 2 months of life, sorry it is going to be long...

Andrew James Dyett was born on Monday April 3, 2006 at 8:02pm at the Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial. He was born on his due date and like my entire pregnancy, everything was very text book (normal). Although his weight of 9 lbs 5 ounces and 22 inches was a little unexpected and painful, he was a beautful healthy baby. We stayed in the hospital for 48 hours and came home Wednesday night. RJ had a baseball game that night, so Drew and I waited in the hospital until RJ was done and we got home about 11:30.

RJ has been umpiring some minor league baseball this year. Thursday, April 6 RJ umpired the home opener game for the Daytona Cubs. My dad, Drew and I attended the game. We wouldn't have missed it!! Drew, being three days old slept through it, but at least we were there!!

At the end of April, We packed the truck up with pretty much the entire hous and headed to Clearwater for vacation. Our family from Canada came down for Deke's wedding. We shared a house with Dan, Robin, Brooke, Payton & RuthAnn, Tom & Danalyn and Bernie & Lana. The house was across the street from the beach, it was relaxing with crystal clear water and white sandy beach. Drew did really great on his first vacation and he got spoiled by everyone.

At Drew's first doctor's appointment, he had regained his birth weight already! At his one month check up, he weighed in at 11 pounds 14 ounces and was 23 1/4 inches long!! His next appointment is June 13th and he will be getting his shots!

I am back to work now and it is going ok. I have an awesome babysitter, which made it easier to leave him. I learn something new from her everyday. Drew seems to like it there, because he has been sleeping better and eating better since he started staying with her. Getting into a normal routine may be helping also!

Drew is a good baby and RJ is a great daddy. We have been having a lot of fun as a family and looking forward to all the fun times ahead. Keep checking back and I promise to keep everyone updated on our progress!! Here are a few starter pictures from our first month...
